Hi Priety,

I have many years of practice as the owner of a Beauty Salon here in the US.
I don't know what type of hair you have, Wavy, curly or tight kinky curly. I also need to know if you have thick or average hair.
If you have the first two, and thick hair, then you may want to use a pump gel or heavy mousse which use comb onto your wet hair first. If you have kinky (tight) curls then you may want to use a professional hair straighter first, this procedure is only performed at a Salon.
If not then you may want to use a heavy gel or heavy cream based setting product which you comb through your hair.

Always blow dry the roots first by turning your head upside down and drying only the roots . Then you section the hair into quarters and dry the bottom layers first using a large round brush, gently but firmly pulling on the hair to straighten it. Apply light hair spray right after each section, then spray it all over once the entire head is dry.

I am in the US so I cannot suggest any products that are available in India but you may want to visit a Beauty Supply store and ask the receptionist to recommend what is best for your hair type.

Hope this helps.

1. Towel-dry your just-washed hair.

2. Apply a heat protectant to your hair, paying special attention to the ends.

3. Place a quarter-size dollop of straightening balm in your palm. Rub your palms together to distribute the product in your hands, then massage it evenly throughout your hair.

4. Comb through your hair with your fingers while gently drying it on a low setting. This removes excess water.

5. Pull your hair into three sections, two at the sides and one at the back. Clip the two sides up.

6. Select a small portion of the hair from the unclipped section.

7. Using a thick, round brush and beginning at the roots, gently pull the brush through the hair to the ends while you blow-dry it. Pull the hair away from your head, stretching and straightening it as you go.

8. First pull the brush through the underside of your hair so that you expose it directly to the heat of the dryer. Once that area is mostly dry, switch to the top of the hair.

9. Keep the tension consistent and evenly distribute heat over the section of hair you're working on. This ensures uniform hair texture and prevents over drying of certain areas.

10. Continue with the other sections of damp hair.

Enjoy trying this out; it was a pleasure helping!

Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
