Hi Archie
thanks for replying..
i am a bit concerned abt this alpha thalaessemia thing. does that mean i am thalaessemic?? i hv done my thalassemia testing before marriage as well and they mentioned everything is normal. i was not even a minor carrier and so is my husband who is normal. when i got this blodd reports the mid wife didnt tell me nething abt this. she told me all the reports r ok .. its only that when i went thru my blood reports i found this written somewhere.
what i am concerned is can our baby have thalaessemia in that case? i am sorry for my ignorance and asking u this again since the very mention of the thalasseamia disease can be quite unnerving as i hv seen people suffering from this disease .. dont want the child to be effected by any means..
pls do respond and let me know..
thanks

there are four chains of alpha thalassemia and does not look like you have the condition. I would not worry today at all. Just that you are concerned and that's why I said you can check baby after birth, I don't suspect thalassemia for baby at all.

Hi VK,

Our Dr and we thought that he' ll skip it all together, but he surprised us. hope, your baby started rolling over by now. if not, dont worry. and, dont get tense... - patient mom [View Message]
