don't worry you don't have to take any special precautions.i and my sister had tonsure 2 months back.our mother is very religious and she has lots of experiance of tonsure since she hastonsured 7 times at tirumala.when are you planning to tonsure?how old are you and your child is your hair long.vijaya first thing you should have clean hair as you are offering it to god.see to it that you don't have dandruff or lice and nits.ask someone in the family to check your hair.our mother used to daily check our hair and did the lice picking.also oil your hair daily for one week before tonsure and keep it in tight plaits as this removes the chances of picking lice.just before tonsure wash your hair and oil it properly as it eases the tonsure.even the barbers massage your hair with water and becomes easy.don't they are experts at kalyankatta.tell me when are you going for tonsure.
