Hi there please understand that the child is small and will feel like this so no need to worry and this is not with you as this happens with all of us, so try to figure it out and be calm and do not repeat.

Hi there yes this is a very common issue and you should not worry at all and then one must always try to avoid this because the child needs the mother only, so please understand and do not worry so much.

You should have mentioned his age here which would have given us a clear Idea on why he is behaving in such way. if he is just 8-18 months old it is natural, after 18 months start telling him about people. Like who is who. And take him to public places where he is attached to outside world.

Ofcourse. kids are more attached to people who are around them rather than strangers. So it is very obvious that they shout, beat, cry, or make weird noises when some stranger picks them up. This is normal dont worry

simply show him something which he likes and tell him if you go to someone else i will give u this and that. after sometime his/her fear will go away and you will need not to show him any candy. you also should tell that person to behave in a way he likes.

Hey good to hear.

My kid is also studying in Orchids The International School. She had a similar problem when she was small. I took her to a therapist and advised me not to worry about it as it takes some time to develop motor skills in children.

My 8 month old son used to be very social earlier and always smiling but now he has become clingy. He always clings to me and does not go to anybody. If a new person holds him, he cries a lot and it becomes difficult to manage him. the only option left for me is to hold him always. He also does not like to go to his grandparents also. Why is this happening?

Yes I agree. Small kids tend to have stranger anxiety at some period of time. My daughter was like this when she was 6 months old. she hardly went to anybody. When my in-laws came I had a difficult time in calming her. My in-laws were staying with me and there was no way she was willing to go to them. I gradually tried to work over this. I made her a part of simple moments with her grandparents. Some activities were planned where the grandparents also took part. she gradually started liking to be near them.

What you are experiencing is a common thing which many parents experience. Many kids become clingy after 6 months as this age is the first emotional milestone for a kid. Before this age, kids are happy anywhere and with everybody but after about 6 months they cry when a stranger approaches them. this can be termed as stranger anxiety. sometimes it may be so because he may not be feeling well, has some problem or simply tired and feeling sleepy. you should not take this seriously but try to calm him down. You have to gradually help him out in coming out of this anxiety.
