ihi friends
i am the mother of an 13 months old son.. but i am very worried about hoim since he is born.. let me explain..
i lost my only brother who was suffering from muscular dystrophy.. we dont have any family histry of this desease..my mom has 4 siss who have many sons and daughters who also have may boy children.. but none of them has this weird deasease.. my som says my brother was a quite and weak boy, who never crowled....

now my son is developing normally..he 1st turned over at around 5 and half months, and by that time only he was sitting unaided.. he is crowling from 8 months, started pulling him up at around 7 months.. now he is walking holding furniture and pushing plastic chair etc..

but i am always having the fear in the mind, donno what is there in feture.. pediatrician says he is fine, but still..... i have lost my peace of mind and i believe i am the most unhappy person on the earth at this moment.. :(
the reason is, some moms are telling me that their sons are walking from 8, 10 , 11 montths, they are climbing a sofa..which my son cant do..i have checked that he can ride upto 8-9 inch while crowling, but not at the hight of a sofa..might b his legs are not that tall..( his head is big like his dad.)but he can crowl very fast if i chese him for a chesing game..,he will sit on his knees and jump on it..he has a good balace , some times he leaves his hand while standing, but he is verry scared.. seems everything is fine, but if i see those children, i get scared :(
please share ur experience, what normal at this age to do..plzz

Hi Riya,

Ur kid is perfectly fine. Even I have a baby boy who just completed 7 months a week back, but he is not yet forget about standing he is not yet crawling. Once a while he just sits up.....After turning on his stomach he does not even go ahead..........After reading ur case I should be more worried, but I am not worried coz every child' s milestones are different.......and stop comparing ur baby with others......

Riya,
My son is 12.5 months old & he is yet to take his 1st step. But we know there' e nothing to worry as these dates & timing are not sacrosant & otherwise he is an active boy. Your son' s activities are just fine, so relax & enjoy this time, this wont come again...

Hi Riya,

Hugs to you. I can feel your pain. But let me tell you one thing, if you don´ t have any fmly history, you dont need to worry. Your brother might have developed that in his body itself...If the doctors say your son is doing good then dont worry....if incase, they might have known that b4 hand. Some kids start walking @ 8 months and some @15 months. Now that he is walking, crawling fast, dont panic. Relax and enjoy this baby time.

My sincere prayers for you and your little darling...He will be a Healthy and Happy Child.

Take care,
Friend

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
