Seek your advice. I am looking for a good gynecologist for my relative who is due in August. My preference is a doctor who practices with integrity and encourages normal delivery.

Hi all,
my personal recommendation in case you are due.I was extremely lucky to find two wonderful ladies Preety Aggarwal (Cradle) and Preeti Tandon ( Medanta). It was only and only because of their positive attitude that I could have a normal delivery and no issues throughout my pregnancy. My sincere thanks a lot to both of them.

Whoever has written about their bad experience with Urvashi Rathee, i totally agree with you. I am 21 weeks pregnant now. I too had a very bad experience sometime back with her. I went to her for consultation after i got a positive in my blood test for pregnancy. It was only 2 weeks after conception and she asked me to get a scan done. But obviously, the scan could not detect the location of the foetus, which i later learnt was very normal so early in pregnancy. I also learnt later that no good doctor would advise a scan so early. Anyway, when no embryo was located in the uterus, she and her stupid ultrasonologist scared me and my husband saying i had an ectopic pregnancy(implantation in the fallopian tube) and i had to get myself operated. She asked me to get test after test done in a span of three days. Thank God!! My husband and i had the good sense to change the doctor at that stage. When we went to a good one, we learnt that a scan is never done so early. After a few days, another scan was done, and there my child was, right inside the uterus!! We were so relieved. But trust me, that torture that i went through because of Urvashi Rathee has an impact on my mind even to this day and i get nervous for every test i must go for. Please please, dont ever make the mistake of going to her. She is hopeless.

A known one of age 55 had some feeling of pain in the chest. Went to a so to say good Hospital in Gurgaon. They gave him an estimate of 2.75 lacs for angiography, stents etc. for approval by the PSU on whose panel Hospital is. He was advised by his superviser not to worry as he found him to be quite normal even in hard work and advised to consult Dr.Rajiv Bajaj, Cardiac Surgeon, of Batra Hospital. Dr.Bajaj declared him to be in perfect health. So a normal man was spared him operation and lots of other problems.
This is for every reader that a large number of Doctors are without ethics and their only motto is to make money. Many of the Gynecologists are even shamelessly selfish and without any etiquette if they don´ t see money coming. They can shout on any patient with no respect for age or otherwise.

Hi Samanvitha,

I saw this message after a very long time but still wanted to share my good experience with Dr. Urvashi Rathee.

I developed several complications at the later stage of pregnancy like my blood test report showed very low hemoglobin in the 8th mth, Hypertension and then fluid got accumulated in my body.

We consulted several doctors in Gurgaon and most of them suggested to get hemoglobin injected to increase hemoglobin content in body.

One of our colleague suggested Dr. Rathee and finally we went to her. She just asked me to take iron tablets on regular basis, which improved hemoglobin to good extent

Later during the period of my pregnancy I developed hypertension and fluid accumulated in my body due to which I was suffering from unbearable headache and increase in body wt respectively. She really helped us at last moment and suggested a physician in Uma Sanjeevini.

She always tried to cure the problem with medication but when BP did not come to normal, she asked me to get hospitalized where again she tried to avoid surgery as I was in my 8th mth and fetus growth was not satisfactory.

Later when BP did not come to normal and it started affecting the fetus movement and heart beat she decided to go for C-Sec.

Finally, me and my baby could survive in her hands and even today after 1yr of delivery we remember her and suggest my friends Dr. Urvashi Rathee, as a very good gynae in Gurgaon.

Dear Samanvitha
I have just read your message and was saddened to know that you had such a bad experience. I would like you to know however that I do not get the investigations you mentioned as a routine in all patients. It is only in rare cases where a complication is supected that one would advice tests. Even then, if at all a diagnosis of suspected ectopic pregnancy is reached, I would advice a patient to get admitted in the hospital until we had a confirmed diagnosis. If an ectopic pregnancy is diagnosed early enough, it can be managed medically without resorting to surgery, and it is for this reason that in rare instances I would advise a serum beta hCG and an early USG. If there is any doubt about the diagnosis I would myself recommend a second opinion.I truly regret the fact that in an attempt to treat you I caused you so much torture. Believe me, that was not my intention. I would be grateful if you would let me know your case details.I hope you will reply to this message. I would really like to be able to communicate with you and clarify any misunderstanding.

I had a horrible experience with that Dr. if Shraddha is referring Urvashi Rathi.Through out pregenency she told me that everything is fine and it would be a normal delivery. But on the day of delivery she forced me to have CCS. or to vacate the hospital in 5 minutes. .She and other gynie in the hospital said that if i don't undergo C section immediately there is a high chance of baby may die (due to suffocation from having passed stool inside womb)or be mentally retarted. In labour pain we had to vacate the hospital and had a lot of difficulty in finding another hospital.normal delivery. The Dr in the other hospital checked me and said that unborn babies vital sign were normal and has not passed stool. Later in the day I gave birth to my son through normal delivery. Our son has a great mental and physical health.Only becoz our family had been living overseas since then we have not had a chance to sue Urvashi Rathee.I would not recommend Urvashi Rathee to my worst enemy.

My colleague´ s 85+ father had multiple problems all age related. His kidneys almost failed. He was admitted checked up by the Kidney specialist and he wanted the patient to be admitted to the hospital as the condition of the heart was deteriorating. Fortunately my colleague contacted the heart speccialist in the same hospital. Dr. had a straight talk with my colleague and explained him that heart was still fine but for reasons better known to the other doctor hospitalisation was being forced. My colleague took his father to home where he expired thye very same day peacefully.
It is almost becoming impossible to get a doctor who is experienced and has great ethics.

Dear All,

I'm Dr. Meghna Bharath. I'm a strong proponent of Natural Birthing.

In the run-up to becoming a Mom myself, I prepared for Natural birth and delivered naturally. Recently I encouraged and supported my younger sister and close friends deliver naturally as well [through remote advice, since we were across a 10-hour timezone :)].
