Hi,
I have one travel which I may choose in which trimester but travel is necessary. I am choosing to travel in my second trimester. However just wanted to ask you all few questions:
1. which month will be more comfortable to travel in second trimester
2. Which mode is preferred if any of you traveled? I have 1000 kms travel which will be 20 hours by train and 1.5 hours by flight.
3. If I prefer traveling by plane, I have read on Google that it has some radiation.
4. If anyone traveled by plane, how did you manage airport Frisking which they do at security gates

I am just too much worried to choose plane as mode of travel due to electronic screening at the same time not sure how comfortable train travel would be.
Please share your experience

Deeps

Hi Deeps, Traveling by plane is safer in pregnancy. Second trimester is the best time to fly as you will be over of your morning sickness. This is also the time when chances of miscarriage is low. It is safe to walk through security screenings as they use a low-frequency electromagnetic fields. Drop in air pressure also will not affect you if you have a healthy and complication free pregnancy.

When I was pregnant, I used to travel a lot but I would take care. I avoided bumpy rides and traveling by two or three wheelers. Traveling by train and flight are safer. As long as you don' t have any complications and also not much of morning sickness symptoms, you can travel anytime during pregnancy but it is best to avoid in the first three months and the last month of pregnancy. The first trimester is crucial for the baby' s development.

Hi Deeps, Congrats. I believe that you are a first time mom so much concerned about traveling. Traveling is better in the second trimester when the queasiness of first trimester settles down. Second trimester is comparatively safer for traveling. Any day after the first trimester is safe for traveling but avoid bumpy rides.
