In reply to \" T\" I had undergone Second opinion Ultra sound too the result was same. I didnt want to go for amnio as it will confuse my mind and if it shows no problem still i wont have peace of mind and i would go through same tensions till the time my baby is born and is found Normal. Besides there was no guarantee that baby wont have any other prob like heart or kidney or lungs so its decided to terminate.

I am getting admitted tomorrow morning 8 Am IST and the process wud be inducing pain for delivery. ofcourse the pain i will go thru like all other moms to be but in my case i wont get the sweet gift for bearing this pain.

I will ask my hubby to Update you guys when i am in hospital

I couldn' t really stop myself when I read your post. I couldn' t stop myself admiring your courage. I pray God to give you and your husband courage during this tough period.

My heart goes out to you.I can only imagine what you and your husband must be going through right now.The NT test is only a screening test and can have false positives-about 5-7%.It is extremely time sensitive and if they had your due date/LMP wrong then it could give you an inaccurate result.Also,if your baby is growing ahead of schedule that could give an inaccurate result.

I am surprised that your doctor didnot recommend an amnio or even a level 2 ultrasound.Rarely will any doctor recommend termination.They will give you an option but only after diagnostic tests.Amnio is a diagnositic test and is pretty accurate.I agree that there is a risk of miscarriage with it but if you are considering termination........please consider amnio.

Hugs to you Ramya.....couldnt say more..... i totally agree with you for the reasoning.....but, here (canada) the doctor will not given amnio as an option in that case....its different there i guess.admire your courage for taking the decision. All the best....and we pray God for a healthy baby in the future...... Ramya V replied. The test report for triple marker test has come as Low risk. The doctor has given me two option

1. Go for amnio , if it comes positive you can terminate and if it comes negative you can continue with pregnancy but there would be still doubts in your mind with tensions and stress through out the rest of your pregnancy.There will be many tests done at many stages like to check if the heart is fine, kidney is fine etc and everytime you would be stressed out and tense till the tension comes. So she asked me to decide to go ahead with pregnancy only if i am ready to take that risk

Option 2. Go for termination straight away with out amnio

We had a tough decision to make last night More than me my husband was stressed out he was just uncontrolable i must be frank he had lot of dreams n expectations from this baby much much more than me. So he is more shattered then me.

He has given his opinion that i must go for amnio , but then he says he will take a decision only in my favour.

Father in Law, Mother in Law, Hubby, Myself and my Brother in law we all sat till around 3 am yesterday to decide.

I have given my final decision that i would not go for Amnio not that i dont want to take the risk. I surely would be last person to kill my child. But who knows tomorrow if my child indeed gets some abnormality how would it succeed in this competitive world. We parents may die at some point till then we can take care of it but later who will?? besides the child would have to suffer its whole life. Its not viable for me to feel emotional and risk my child' s future.

I feel Sorry to my husband who is devastated after i took this decision but then he is so supportive. he has agreed to this on 2 conditions.

1. He would like to know the gender of the baby and would like to name it and help some orphan child on its name every year

2. He would always consider this baby as the first baby for us and in case we are blessed with another child it would be our second child.

Thats it for now. Rest when things develop more or after i go for the termination.

I love to all of you and i would be here till you all have your bundle of joy in your arms.Hopefully by then i would conceive again.
