why does every indian want to be lighter? i never understood that. I am half egyptian. I dont know why my indian cousins always talk about be white and lighter. People in AMerica want to be darker isnt that funny. They actually love the indian skil color. Please anser me...i dont understand this because i think dark skin is beaty! Dark is better than being too white! Aeme replied. I think everybody wants what they don't have. Indian want a fair skin whereas people in countries like Canada and America tan their skins to have a darker shade. If only fair skin was sought after nobody would have made naomi campbell a super model. I also think that dark is beautiful. Here in India, people of some parts have white skin & some dark. It depends on the climate of the region they live & heredity. So the people having dark skin think that white skin is beautiful & give attention to people having white skin.
I want to give you an example: I live in India & have very pinkish fair skin. But the region where I live fair skin is common. But when I go to my relatives place, they don’t stop talking about my skin. They say I look cute & beautiful like a doll. They ask me what I use on my face. This attraction towards white skin is because its uncommon.

Mostly the people having dark skin have sharp features & have photogenic face. So many other people like dark skin for example my mom. She feels dark skin is beauty. But I like fair skin. So it depends on individuals what type of skin they like.
