Due Date Club April 2004:Free nurse visits....

Just thought of sharing this useful info with all of you. In the child birth class, I was told that, I can request upto 4 nurse visits, nurse will visit mom and the baby at home after discharge from hospital. This service is free in our area. Please check with your hospital if this service is offered in your area.

Nurse visits

I stay in MA, and I guess as per the rule here, we can stay in the hospital for upto 48hrs after delivery, if we choose to leave 4 hrs before 48hrs are up, we can have a nurse visit our house for upto 4 visits longing an hr each - so if you leave 6 hrs before, u r entitled to 6 visits by the nurse - thats what my birth educator told me!

hi Mansi,
this is a free voluntary service offered by nurses at the hospital. So there is no insurance required. Please check with your hospital if this service is offered. Your child birth class teacher could able to give you more details on this since they know what services are offered in your area/hospital. I'm in SFO area and this service is offered there.
