Hi Neerja,
You said that you r about to shave your head on last Saturday, did you? pl. share your experience. Y'day I got the pictures that we were taken at Tirumala and Tirupati, I am so happy to saw my bald head. Please send your pictures if any.

My sister in laws family from Trichy reached our place only late evening of friday. We arranged a sumo for the trip. We started from chennai on early saturday morning and reached tirupati in the afternoon. There was heavy rush we saw in tirupati itself since it is a puratasi saturday. We already booked rooms in bhimas. After lunch, we took a few hours rest. My husband got the VIP tickets and darshan time was sunday morning. My mil told my daughters mottai should be done on that day, saturday is very auspicious day and she also told we should shave in kalyanakatta. Since my mil is a weak person, we gave up walking up the hills. We reached top of hills around 4pm. Then we entered to the new complex of kalyanakatta and I was seeing a big queue there. We took 8 tickets for our family. We were moving along with the queue and the volunteers were sending the devotees in batch by batch. It took almost 2 hours to enter into the shaving area. First my husband and my sil's husband sat for tonsure. They were shaved in 4 mins. Then he took my daughter in his lap for her tonsure. Meanwhile my mil wet her hair by herself and sit in front of the barber who shaved my sils husband. My daughter was very cooperative during the shave. She was very calm and very supportive. Then my sils son is shaved after my daughter. My sils 10 yr old daughter was very adament and she was crying a lot. Meantime my mil shaved and she was convincing the kid and took her in her lap and asked the barber to start. My sil released her plait and also asked me to release my plait. I did that and we both were wetting our hairs by pouring water. In few mins my sils kids got up with bald heads. Then we sat in front of both the barbers at the same time. He started massaging my hairs and evrything was very new to me. He tied my hair into two loose knots on both sides. Then he inserted a fresh blade into the razor and bent my head deep down. He started shaving from top in small strikes and extended in more lengths towards my neck. I was feeling my whole back head is shaved when he tilted my head upward and to my right. He then started shaving my left side. I was able to see my sil who is also half bald and smiling on seeing me. I also smiled at her. After shaving my head in front and right side, he repeated the shaving all over my head and put long strokes in the back. Then he gestured my headshave is over. I got up and saw my sil is already standing with the smooth bald head. My mil took my hand to encourage me. I was feeling very strange calm inner and felt some kind of satisfaction inside. We returned our rooms, took bath. During dinner I was telling my sil, you are very courage since she shaved her head number of times. She was just smiling on hearing that. Next day we had a wonderful darshan. We also visited to Kalahasthi from tirupati and returned in the same night to Chennai. I was feeling shy till yesterday but today I am ok and used with my bald look.
