Name: Kavita Hi Everyone,

I' m in my 6th month and for the past many weeks i have severe pain on the right side below the chest. Its not gastric kinda pain but its as if i' ve got hurt but thts not the case at all. It pains so much tht it gets really suffocating and is continuous. My doc said its normal but i wntd to know is there a remedy to get relief and for long will this pain continue. Plz guide me as soon as possible. Thanks a lot.

same boat!!

hi kavita,
im in my 6th month as well.and also in the same boat as u!!its pretty normal to get tht pain.annoying,but inevitable.:)unfastening the bra gives some relief.try if it helps u too.all the best.tc.

In Pain.....

Thanks to all of u for ur concern. I have this continuous pinching kinda pain which is very irritating n painful. Its not in the tummy or abdomen...i even donno if its in ribs or muscles...i´ m unable to explain. I spoke to my doc again yday, she said its normal n will take some time...god knows when will i be fine. My sister too had the same problem n it was through out her pregnancy...

Rib Pain

It can be muscular pain due to hormonal reasons when everything has become loose. I too suffer from breif but not so mild pains everywhere starting from back to front and even sometimes in lower abdomen. Currently I am in my 26th week.
Well, just to be on the safe side...can you please check if you dont have gall-stones and also that your BP is ok and urine is protein free.
But as I mentioned, in most of the cases, these pains are completely normal and harmless.

Pain below the Ribs

Hi Mou,
I perfectly agree with you. I had gall stones during my pregnancy and I had similar pain. All doctors would tell is it is due to gas and to take some antacids.
After I delievred my baby it got so severe that I had to go to emergency and there they diagnosed that it was due to gall stones and they removed my gall bladder.
So I would say go to a good doctor get completely diagnosed. Luckily my baby was safe but gall stones are fatal if left undiagonized.

monitor baby movements

Hi Kavita,

Mild pain in abdominal area and breast are ok in pregnancy, it may be because of streching of uterus, but unbearable pain should be resolved at this stage.
How is ur baby movements, monitor that.
If movements are ok daily then i think their is no need to worry.
But ya movements are also less then speak to ur doctor again and take second opinion if needed.

I dont have abdominal pain but the pain is just below the breasts above the tummy. I can feel the movements but not everyday.
