Due Date Club April 2004:hey moms whats the matter

hi all mommies to be

tina has rightly pointed that all moms have become busy preparing for new arrival and frustrated about the wait as the due dates are drawing near.
i had a surprise baby shower last saturday given by my hubby and friends.i really felt on top of the world and enjoyed myself thoroughly.i guess i had a feeling in a corner of my heart that i did not have a baby shower and i am lucky to have such an excellent hubby and friends.actually when we asked my mother in law for permission she was apprehensive because we dont have the tradition of seemantham in our family and since this is the first grandchild for my parents and inlaws she wanted us to do nothing out of the way.turns out my hubby somehow convinced her and made her say yes and he is a real darling for making me feel like the happiest woman in the world.
now we have some items in duplicates as we purchased most of them and will have to return those items.
keep urself happy all moms
take care

i have bought bottles also,at least 9 oz capacity.in rare instances milk produced may not be sufficient or in case of excessive milk production breasts may get engorged and milk may not come out.so it is better to have a formula recommended by ur pediatrician or doc in handy to feed.
breast pump is a must for working women but i am not sure wether it is that essential for stay home moms.if u r working get one.breast pumps are also available for rent in hospitals, check and see of buying and renting which turns out cheaper.
i did not purchase a pump.one of my friends told me that they r painful and since i am at home i did not feel it necessary.
as u take bottles also purchase a rack for drying and storing bottles and a bottle and nipple cleaner.even if u dont use them immediately u can do so later after 4-5 months if u dont open the seal.
hope this helps

Bhargavi,

Good to know that u had a wonderful time at your shower. Our friends also had given us a baby shower in my 7th month. It really is a memorable experience and do make you feel very special.

So did u finished all your shopping? We bought our crib this weekend have yet to buy a car seat and also nursery items. Any ideas what all we may need to buy and keep if we r planning to breastfeed? I know its good to have a pair of nursing bras, gowns & pads. Do we need to buy and keep the breast pump, bottles etc?
