I have a 4 and 1/2 month old girl who doesn' t want to turn on her tummy...She doesn' t like turn to her side as well. if we make her turn to her side and turn over then she stays that way for a couple of minutes then starts crying and attempts to turn back...
At what month are babies supposed to turn on their tummies...I am a little worried here...can someone help me out pleas?

Rgds,

Hi my daughter is gonna turn 5 months tomorrow and she started rolling over just 4 days ago. She did a couple of rolls when she was three and a half months old and then didnt show any signs of turning. So dont worry, children do things at their own speed!

it is very good for babies to spend some time lying on their tummies. turn her over & then distract her with a toy or by singing to her & making faces at her ie keep her entertained. Slowly increase the amount of time she spends turned over on her tummy. this will help to strengthen her muscles & also improver her alertness as she will be able to see more of the world in this position than lying on her back. dont take too much tension ....4 1/2 months is not too late to turn over..if u r having some concerns about other milestones being delayed then you can always speak with the doc in the next visit

hi sarita,
dont worry my son started turning over when he was 7 1/2 mnths and now he is about 9 mnths but still doesnt crawl. so dnt worry. all kids differ frm one another and yes one advice let babies take thier own time to do everything, dont force them.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
