Due Date Club July 2008:no symptoms, spoke too soon
2007-12-17
Name: Lalitha

Hi everyone

I spoke too soon when I said I had no symptoms. while I still have no nausea, cravings, cramps, no preg feeling at all, etc, however I had the most horrible of them all - constipation!! I had the most terrible 2 days of constipation. Anyway, I decided to fight it..I have been drinking water with a vengeance, and having one spoon isabgol in the night. and i have stopped rice and white bread... shifted to dalia and whole wheat bread. also a 20 minute walk everyday. so finally it seems to be under control :)
I realised that it is good to do some work - I have a cook, and a good maid. My office is closeby, and I have a typical desk job,now that I am not traveling on work. So, I dont end up doing any physical work!
Just wanted to keep you guys updated about this...

By the way, anyone doing yoga in this group? Whats your experience?

Lalitha.

hi sara..

congrats and welcome to the july due date board..

don' t have isabgol with milk.. milk is a source of calcium and calcium, as we all know causes constipation.. have it with water..

other home remedies for constipation are..drink warm water all day.. eat a sweet lime (mosambi) or orange everyday.. don' t drink fresh orange or mosambi juice coz most of the nutrition and fibre is lost in the juice.. if you have it as a whole you will get more fibre in your system.. the best of all, eat BROCCOLI.. steam vegetables (make sure to include broccoli).. its a very good source of fibre.. hope this helps.. good luck!

hi lalitha

really sorry to hear about your bout of constipation.. there are days when i go through it too but isabgol and tons of water helps.. also i' ve cut down on white bread and maida..

i will be starting yoga for pregnancy in my 2nd trimester.. a friend of mine just went for that and few prenatal lamaze classes and apparently the yoga helped her prepare physically and mentally.. the lamaze classes prepared her on what to expect out of labour.. so when she delivered she was quite fit and ready.. so i am quite sold on the idea of yoga and lamaze..

think about it.. :)
