Hello, I am Deepika, living in New Zealand. I am new to this site.
Its true that you must avoid using walkers, as they make the child more prone to injuries. Moreover walkers don' t teach a child to walk. Our grandparents and parents and even many of us never needed walkers to walk. Isn' t it? So, it will be nice if you can wait patiently and encourage your child to learn naturally. I guess it will be lot more fun.

Walker is banned in many countries including Canada. US is also contemplating the ban since walkers can cause several injuries and damages to your child' s leg muscles. So better do not give walker. Let him learn the normal way. It is more fun to see them trying to get up and walk, than put a walker around them

There is no right time to put a baby on a walker. Mobile walkers are banned in most countries and peds elsewhere do not recommend. For reasons rightly mentioned by joyeeta. Also the muscles needed to move in a walker and muscels required to walk are different. So there are no benefits. Please do not use 1.
