Hi All,

I am from the July board. I need some help/advice/info. I am so scared and sad at this moment. I had my 5th month u/s scan on Monday. I got a call from my doctor's office today. They said that they got the reports from ultrasound and it does not seem good. They said something like the fluid was more which could be due to some chromosomal abnormality. They said that it is still not confirmed and they need an expert opinion on this. So tomorrow I have a second ultrasound scan at 8:00 AM during which they will check everything. The person who did the scan did not tell me anything like that and she said that everything looked fine. In my family no one is having any problems like this.. My age is 20 + and I have a healthy 2 year old girl. I have never imagined that something could go wrong with this pregnancy. I do not even know what they mean by all this.. Does anyone know what it all means.. this excess fluid and chromosomal abnormality. I am disturbed and tensed. This scan which I am going to have tomorrow is terrifying me.

I was told that Aditi may have some info regarding this.. Can someone tell me something please..

please dont worry...both excess and fluid fluid is little alarming but but with modern tech and care everything is taken care of...Dont worry..
As Sharmila rightly said,we had probs of less fluid which got sorted out with Go's blessings and now we are fine infact Im to deliver by next week..

So dont worry have trust in ur doctor and do as he/she tells you..

Dont worry, you should be fine. I dont know about excess fluid, but Aditi and myself had a problem of less fluid and we were able to sort it out by taking in lots of fluids. You can check the link given by Mansi which explains the implications of excess fluid. Whatever it is, I do not think that it will be as serious as you think. Hope today's test gives you a good result. Our prayers are with you. and also its better to talk to ur doctor in details regarding this.

Please dont worry!!! It must be some mistake in the scanning result so please dont lose your heart. I think u will be able to clear all your worries in ur next scan.

I dont know whether I guessed right from your post but if your doc suggested a problem of excessive amniotic fluid pls check this link: http(:)//www(.)babycenter(.)com/refcap/pregnancy/pregcomplications/1200199(.)html . This is an article on hydramnios or excessive fluid situation.

It says in most of the case it doesnt effect your baby much and you will be able to deliver a happy healthy baby without any problem. So please dont worry... All our prayers will be there with you and your baby.
