Milestones:A 7 1/2month old´ s development

My baby girl is seven and half month old and everybody says she should have started to sit up by now.
Her food pattern:
In the mornings:rice, tur dal, salt & very little ghee in addition whatever boiled vegetables are used for the day' s cooking
Before her morning nap around 10.30am:Breast milk
Around 11.30am: 3ml diluted mosambi/grape juice
Afternoons: Ragi or Cerelac or Rice and curd
Before her afternoon nap around 3.00pm:Breast milk
Evenings b/w 5.00pm-6.00pm:One boiled banana

After this meal only breast feeding till next morning. Of course when I sit to eat she will have small bits from my plate. She regularly passes motion(sometimes 4 times a day). Her weight 7 and half kgs

Her developments so far;
3-4 months : she used to turn to one side, as if trying to turn over
4-5 months : actually started to turn over successfully
5-7 months : turns over very successfully and drags herself i.e if she wanted to reach something nearby she would lie dowm flat(head also on the ground) and using her hand and legs she will drag herself as if climbing a ladder but not lifting her head at the same time. And if she wanted to reach some place she will roll over. She also tries to support herself on both hands for a second and half ..as if starting to crawl

I make her sit and she can sit unsupported only for a minute and half, and she just falls to one side like a rag doll(just an example)I mean to say that she doesnt guard herself with putting her hands down first.

Is she a slow learner? Does she have any kind of syndrome? These questions bother me. Just want her to grow normally.I hope some expert will try and tell me if my baby is fine.

my son is just like ur baby. only diff is he learnt to sit first(towards the end of his eighth month) and then learnt to drag(not crwal).and he cud also sit for a minute or two and then fall off when he was 7and half motnhs. then in a 2-3 weeks time he could sit unsupported.a child develepment guide which i hv says that if your baby is not sitting unsupported by nine months, you shud see ur dr.

RE:slow learner
hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
