Sorry for the late response to your answer on my question, but I was out of states. I inquired about the facial hair and you said to use bajri if he is only over two. He is over two, and the problem is facial hair is looked at real bad and kids are teased a lot for those who have it, so I dont want my son to go through that. Is this correct? Bajri, tumeric and milk. Apply on face and leave on and remove with wash cloth?
What will this do to skin and hair.
Please let me know.

Hetal replied. its bajri, gramflour, milk and turmeric. make it paste, let it rest.
by the time it rests,,give your baby lite application of ne pure edible oil or alternatly you can add Malaai or cream to the paste(with milk),,,,,
apply paste as light as possble, rub it as gently as you can in circular direction but the opposite direction of hair growth...after just 3-4rounds of gentle rub,,just wash it with cool water...
dont let it dry.the paste should be very creamy, and very soft and should contain enough cream/malaai.
if your baby is allergic to milk, proteins or gram flour or is suffering from dry rashes or has normal to dry skin,,then avoid doing this remedy...for dry skin this remedy will give rashes.
for combination skin(on face, 2-3areas are oily and rest are dry),,it will give rashes on dry area
for normal to oily skin,,this remedy will balance the oil levels and make it normal skin.
after application of this remedy or after doing this practice,,allow skin to come in contact with open air.
after 5mins, check for ne rashes etc,,it means that you have put hard pressure on those areas and you need to give the massage more gently or just a touch is required.
if no rashes, the pressure applied by you is just right..mostly because if your child is not allergic to ne of these things,,thn its only the pressure thats applied will cause the rashes.
if you think, the dryness in skin is more, then, make the paste more thin and thn apply.
if you think, the roughness of paste or granular texture is more and you want to be on safer side,,let the bajri amt be half of the gram flour qty.
if your baby has ne cuts or bruise or is teething or is drooling, then reducing turmeric will be better idea !!! use turmeric direct from pack and not from the masala dabba/container where all spices are together(you dont want other spices in turmeric)...
all this when done, with proper care, does the following :
to skin :
1. it will balance skin oils and it will reduce the hair growth,,with continuous usage.
2. to hair, its nthing but a gentle and natural scrub..
3. turmeric will heal the roots of the hairs and will tone the skin well so that your skin is well protected during the scrub application.
4. gram flour removes excess oil from the skin and tones the skin, makes it vibrant.also removes the dirt if ne,,so using soap if not a good idea after bathing your 2 year old and above with this scrub.this is just enough bathe for him ! gram flour will also make the hair light.
5. milk, and cream will nourish the skin with all the essential moisture needed and avoid dryness.
6. the rubbing style that you will perform which will be oppsite direction of hair growth, will ensure that new hairs dont grow and the older ones get lighter.
7. last but not the least,,no soap is required after this scrub, no harsh rubbing on skin is required for this scrub,,be as gentle as you during bath, and after bath,,just pat dry with soft towel.
after bath, after leaving for some 4-5mins,,apply gentle light moisturizer,,if skin seems to be dry, applying a heavier moisterizer is a better idea..
avoid applying vicks after this bath !avoid ne application of eucalyptus oil or ne other aromatherapy oils after this bath, avoid ne perfumes or cologne water baths after this bath..make it as simple as you can..
if you want to apply ne of this,,let the half day pass on thn you can apply !!!!
further, if you are interested,,, you can add pure sandalwood pwder to this mixture,,it will just improve the texture of skin,,and make it look glowing !
if the dryness in skin happens to increase, after daily bath, avoid giving your child bath everyday with this scrub., instead, go slow, every 2-3days, once bath with this scrub.
if oilyness happens to increase, reduce the qty of cream and still if feel that this is going to make his skin oily,,then take half water, half milk and dont put the cream in the mixture,,and thn apply !
and all this should solve the purpose..
this remedy will not work :
1. if your child has a gift from you or your ancestors,,a good hair growth ! or you might have to keep doing it quite longer.
2. if your child has tendency to sweat alot then make sure you replace the output of liquids with proper juices, water and lots of soups in his diet. wash his face as often as required, after ne hyperactive activity.
3. if your child has a very thick hair on face, thn also go slow, dont hurry up, just because hair are thick and pure black,,i have seen some mothers takng this remedy and trying to rub very hard, because the hair is thick...so avoid doing that,,,
and all this should help.
in 3-4days, if your child happens to show ne redness or rashes,,thn this remedy should be stopped totally,,and your child skin is not ready for this scrub,,,alternatly you can just bathe him with gram flour, turmeric, milk/water, paste or just give him a gentle but firm rub of a good towel after bath,,will work for him in longer run !!
hope this suffcs.

1. wat you see around your child lips are the infant hair..even my girl had that :),,it vanished on its own, with lil rubbing after bath in opposite direction of hairgrowth,,without ne applicatn ! my lil lady has a tendency to have good hair grwth,,which i see not only on her hair quality but also on her body, whenver i dont rub her with just towel for say 15days or a month...
2. turmeric does not reduce the hair growth,,its the dryness of gram flour that actually works ! and is the most effective remedy not only to cleanse but also to reduce the hair growth...
3. application of turmeric is irrespective of skin type..its the gram flour that requires to be taken care of mostly because it absorbs moisture from the skin and leaves it dry..wash your face and try a simple experiment,,apply the gram flour paste and you will know the dryness on your face has increased! esp if its winters.
4. if the baby is having good hair growth,,even after trying these remedies, his body will continue to grow good hair no matter how long you continue,,its like a bug in your garden that visits every season,,when the bug repellent is not sprayed(when the paste is not applied, aftr the while the hair again starts to grow ! )..as mostly its gift from parents !! esp asain, italian and mexican families oftn face this...
to remove the hair from your infants face,,a gentle but firm wipe in opposite direction of hair grwth, with a good quality soft furry towel will do the work,,why make a mess of all that application with such a young age before 1 year..
as it is before 1 year, childrens hair grwth, is quite high, and infant hair comes and goes off on its own,,,so worrying about it at this age,is not wise idea...wait until your baby gets mature like 2years and onwards and thn you can think of other pssbilties...
take care good luck !

Name: Hima Subject: Concern with Turmeric
Hi, I just have a small concern. My son who is completeing 6 months in a week also have little Moustache growing, though its not too much, but is quite visible. I am afraid this will increase in a couple of months. My mom does not suggest using turmeric saying the moustache will never grow.(Funny though, i used it for quite some time right thru my college days for the hair on my face to go off, and it never worked). I have used Gram flour and moong dal flour since birth till about four months. The hair on the arms have gone but not on face. Shall I Continue the same or try turmeric... he has a normal skin.. i suppose..:(
