First of all..congratulations for ur pregnancy and good luck too for ur labour..I didnt knew that u r pregnant...Now thanks for ur reply to my previous post..i m not that regular to parenting but after reading I feel that m really missing on lot of things..
Now,I was just going through one post abt baby sitting ..I have one query..my baby is 3.5 months old and tries to pull himself up and wants to sit most of the time and once or twice I have noticed him sit independetly..he can even pull himslf up when lying on back if he i hold him little from his hands or arms(i dont have to pull him,he lifts himselfs). I make him sit with support on his back..either my support or a pillow or anything which wud make him sit upright. Now I wanted to understand is that is what m doing is right..some ppl say that at this age i shud not strain his back ,so shud not make him sit..what do u suggest..
Now..he's mostly been formula fed-lactose free( he is allergic to breast milk) ..i feed him every 5-6 hours sometimes more, sometime less..depends when he demands..4-5 ounces of formula with 2 tbspn of rice cereal( doc advsd to start that). In betweem once a day i give him moong dal..approx 5-6 tbspn.u think m doing okay..pls advise..
thankyou so much for ur help..i know its sooo hard in these days ..and tiring for you..take ur time..have rest and take good care of urself..
with lots of love and best wishes

1. practice the action : give him your fingers to grab on,,let him hold it and stand. see him how he stands,,,practice it more and more often. this will help him gain not only confidnce but in near future, when he learns to bear his wght on his legs,,it will be easier for him to deal with his own body wght !
lemme know when he is able to lift himself without minimal pull from yourself,,,
2.avoid making him sit at 3.5months,,,its too early for him.even my baby was ready but its medical fact that its not advisable to make baby sit even though he is ready to do so,,his bones are still developng,,you dont want him to end up having an arched back or weak backbone,,which might lead to future probs thats relatd to backbone and also might lead to back pains etc,,,weak bones...
burp him in sitting position in a way that his entire body wght is on your hands and your hands are just holdng his neck and chest,,,and it will not onlyhelp him burp wel,,but since he has shown readiness in sitting,,it will prepare his backbone to sit,,,
avoid making him sit, supported or unsupported atleast until he completes 5months...
you can make him lie on your chest if you want in sitting postion and very slanting position,,,,but that should not be more thn 10mins.
3. check out 3.5 -4.5 months intake :
http://www.indiaparenting.com/boards/showmessage.cgi?messageid=7375&table_name=dis_feeding
avoid offering moong dal,,offer whole moong water and since you have already started rice cereal,,offer as above in diet chart,,its enough for him right now !
good luck to you....
