hi hetal , thank you very much for your response.
I will make it a point to limit his juice intake and brush his teeth after meals. But I have another doubt!
My son sleeps around 9 p.m after having his supper and a bottle of water. But in the middle of the night i think he gets hungry again and refuses to drink water and sleeps only after drinking 4 to 5 ounces of milk. He then sleeps again untill 4 o clk in the morning and demands milk again. At that time I give him milk (bottle ) and put him back to sleep. Is this what I am doing that is wrong? What should I do? He does not have any redness on the gums but some times I see his cheeks ( on and off ) getting red ( like a rash ). I thought that was due to his drooling !!. Are these connected to each other. Please advise. Thank you very much for your help.

Hetal replied. what does he have in his dinner time,,
avoid offerng bottle at night,,after 6months,,until 8months still its fine,,but avoid after 8months..totally..
yes droolng does give redshness of cheeks,,and also,,check the size of his gums,,are they the same, since he was born,,or are abit like swollen,,if not reddish,,thats a sign that teethgn too !
note the time of his cheeks gettng red,,is it because he scratches,,or its when he gets lots of saliva in his mouth,,if its saliva,,thn his gums are havng teeth inside thm and the teeths will swell those gums,,soon !
teethgn is very slow process,,thats how its okay for babies upto 16-18months to go without teeth or even show signs of teething,,howver, signs of teethng are expectd to be seen atleast from 1year onwards,,and in some cases,,if it was late,,the teethng process started in a month or so,,and thn in some months,,itself babies got all thr teeth...either with or without supplements..its upto dr to judge your baby timings,,mostly because he has been doing your child physically examinatn..as far as your dr is ok with his grwth,,your worry should not be a major concern.
hope this explains you..
about sleeping and wakng at night/midnight, aftr 4-5oz of milk,,do let meknow your child age, bw,currnt wght and also what all he has for dinner or for the whole day,,also wantd to know if he is 12months and above, and that he has been on cows milk or is still on bm or formula !
now about rashes,,if the rashes are quite oftn with signs of drooling/saliva coming from mouth, and is out of his own control,,thn its normal,,..
the teethng rashes are verry light in red,,and are more like dots thn lines,,and is mstly around the lips towards cheeks area,,and not the above cheek bone or towards ears/eyes or eyebrows,,...
just to be on safer side,,if i was unsure whther or not my child is teethng,,whenver the rash occurs,,i would just rush him to dr ! let dr see the rash physicaly and decide the type of it !!!
good luck,,hope this helps./

Hi hetal , thank you for your response.
I've been trying to follow your recomendations and and have managed to make my baby go bottle free in the night. He is 18 months old and has his dinner around 9 pm , its generally rice , dhaall or curd rice or roti soaked in milk etc. Now that I tried this for the past 3 days , the brown spots on his teeth have started to lighten. Thank you very much for your help.
