Hi,
I had a beautiful baby girl on Oct 11th. Had normal delivery. Everything went pretty well. We both are doing fine. Right now Im BF my baby and I feel that my baby is getting enough milk if she doesnt have milk for 2/3hrs, my milk will start dripping.
I bought avent breast pump. When I extract milk from the pump for 10min, I could extract only little amount(1/10th of small bottle). What could be the reason. Do i need to wait few more weeks to extract more milk or am I not using the pump properly. As Im starting back to work soon Im learning to pump the milk. Please advice me.

Hi,
Congrats on the birth of your daughter.
I used Medela Pump-in-style for my son and he was exclusively breastfed for 18 months. I used to collect more than 9-10 oz each time and used to pump every 2 hrs. I think using a manual pump like Avent Isis is not a good idea if you want to go back to work and do not want to formula as a supplement.
I consulted a lactation specialist and hse advised me not use a manual pump except for occasionally.

Sharu - When r u pumping. If it is after the feed it will be less. I give him formula 1 time at night and pump it during that time and get enough for his next feeding. Getting 2-4 oz is good...

I have been visiting site and finally cld see posts. Rhea is doing good.Pretty active like other kids.she sings whole abc song and counts 1to 6 (her bro' s impact)
I have been busy since i joined work since Jan ,so my inlaws are here to help with kids.i terribley miss both kids during day.
