all moms- can u pls tell me how do labour pains feel? How will I know tht I am having labour pains. Seems a silly question but i want to know experiences of others. I am expecting in sept2007.
Harsha Divya replied. I had the same fear when I was pregnant with my first baby. I was so scared that my blood pressure rose so high that it was dangerous for the baby and me. I was constantly monitored by the doctor. Anyway, the answer to your question. It almost feels like a really bad menstrual cramp which keeps coming and going. Its difficult to explain.What u should know is that...there is nothing to worry about...ur body knows how to deliver that baby...it will do it with absolute ease...and its upto u whether u want to take the epidural to ease the pain. I did take an epidural. It helped me enjoy the delivery process rather than worrying about it. And in the end, whether u take that epidural or not, the fruit of ur labor just makes u forget about the pain and trauma u went through...Its worth it...When u see ur baby for the first time...there can be no other moment like that...it will be a memory to cherish for ever. I had the same doubt when I was pregnant the first time.For me, when they started,it was like gas pain,which came and went.Just imagine having painful braxton hicks contractions.The intensity of the pain increases as the labour progresses.Normally, labour starts after a woman looses her mucous plug or the water breaks.
