Pregnancy is delicate time and there are lot of things one must take into account and here by I want to list a few things that you should avoid, I may have stated earlier but seems required today and till the end of pregnancy and for some even after childbirth while nursing.
It's easy to go and take any OTC medication for common illness when not pregnant but that's not the case during pregnancy. It's not there are no treatments but the options are limited therefore key to keep out of illness is the way to enjoy and lead a healthy pregnancy.
I have commented on fruits part in November board and you can gather that information on fruits, nuts, and saffron much discussed subject in Indian pregnancies. That's natural as the dietary habits vary drastically from states to state and from pole to other pole of India.
It's common in USA that paints don't contain Lead anymore but if you are not in USA then take care and avoid to get into contact with painting area. Lead is dangerous not only during pregnancy but even to your baby after birth.
Try to avoid highly fume causing chemical use in toilet or restrooms or at least try to keep out of the fumes as they can at time cause trouble in respiratory functions, not necessarily they will affect pregnancy but won't be easier on you, especially in first and third trimester.
It's common for some to routinely shave private areas or use some fancy fragnant cosmetic hair remover cream. No to them all through pregnancy. The safe would be to shave with use of razor and soap that you use to take bath. Not to use harsh or stron chemical that work by penetration through skin.
Some experience pimples (blemish), oily skin, some melaninoma (dark spots in first trimester and growing throughout the pregnancy), try to keep face clean as much as possible by frequent washing with water, donot apply soap at each time. It may cause over dryness in some cases. Do not use astringents to clear face acne or oiliness. Do not go to parlor to bleach face as it make use of strong chemicals. Also try not to hair dye during pregnancy.
some light make up is fine, again check with your Ob, many times some OBs are flexible with such things.
Try to eat freshly cooked meal and preferably at home to assure hygine.
Keep dairy products in limit do not use dairy product without knowing sterility.
Try not to drink milk directly from bottle, sterilize on your own.
it's better to be safe than sorry.
Wishing you all a pleasant journey of pregnancy.
