Hi Suki,hope Archie's message might hv given u some strength. I am still hanging with the same problem. I tried without b.shells and it again pained a lot.

I need help from u. How do v contact La leche /lactation dept? Do v hv to become a member or pay them something ? what is the contact no? Pl give me the dtls. I am in Colorado, US.

Tomorrow I hv appt with Dr, if she feels my baby has not gained enough weight, I may also hv to start off with formula. She is not latching properly. After feeding, I find that my nipple is pressed so badly that a line is seen in the middle. A cut sort of a thing. I tried putting aerola also along with nipple, but no use :o(.

Anyway, lets wait and c..........

I am confident that no one problem is going to exist forever. Things should get well along with the time.

As for the b.shells, they r of great help to me. my flow is also good. anyway will check this issue with LC.

thanx again Veenu replied. Vara- Call your hospital where u delieverd they usually have lactation consultant or BF warm line where you can get help free of cost.

I already approached 1 time with the lactation consultant... u need to talk to your hospital ppl and get info..

also it is not covered in insurance.. so u need to call ur insurance ppl and ask their procedure.. they might say u need to get a referral note from the pediatrician for 1 time sitting with the lactation consultant which all the pediatricians will do...

i called them and they said they will visit me soon.. anyway i am going to c LC tomo with some positive approach.. the main probs now is my baby is not latching exactly.. he just sucks the nipple and causes lot of pain for me..

dont worry.. hope things will get better soon.. i will inform u my updates once i c the lactation consultant..

P.S. I tried using nipple shield for 2 days and stopped coz LC told that it will reduce the milk production..as i have a low supply i stopped using it else after using NS i need to pump for 15 mins to stimulate again.. though i pump regularly i dint wanna take risk of losing milk supply.. do ask your OB reg this in your next visit..
