I am from Jan board... I want to know if anyone from here has done the procedure of aminocentesis (especially in India) and how it went and all.. I am sechedule for the same procedure next week and any infomration would be welcome.. Thanks,

hi swetha

i am from august board, but i did have amnio done
it is a very minior procedure and it takes like 5 min . it all depends on your doctor, make sure how much experienced he is and how many he /she done in count. they do with the help scanning and will remove like 10 cc of fluid . it will not effect the baby at alla nd baby will make that amount in a day. so dont worry.if thebaby is moving a lot, will try to move baby with the waves away from the procedure. the sdie effect is miscarriages ,but it can happen more while travelling then amnio.so trust god and ur doctor,eevrything will be ok.take care

Thanks for your reply... so far I know the doc who will be performing the amino is well exprienced... just hoping that the procedure goes well...

As you said, travelling immediately after the procedure worries me... and with rains and mumbai roads.. you can well imagine my concern... I am going to wait a while in the clinic after the procedure and my hubby has promised that he will drive very slowly when coming back...

My test is schedule on coming friday i.e. 3rd aug.. and I am trying not to think about it much cos thinking gives me a lot of tension which can be harmful during the amino... so trying to be positive..
