Due Date Club March 2009:20 Week Scan
2008-10-22
Name: Kavs

Hi,
I complete my 20 weeks tomm. Touching the half way mark. I am due for my 20 week scan on 25th Oct (saturday). I have put on around 5 kg weight and i look prominently pregnant. I also suffer from thyroid.
My hubby is gonna accompany me for the first time to any visit to the doc after my pregnancy. He wasnt in India when we came to knw of the good news. He has recently come back.
Is there anything specific i should be looking for. I am told that i will be able to hear the baby' s heartbeat (which i heard last week too). Do recomend if there is anything i should be prepared for ....

Hi Kavs,

Congrats on reaching the half way mark. I complete 20 weeks on Sunday and am super excited about it. My next appt is on 31 Oct. Doc said she would do the scan around 22-23weeks.

From what I have heard, this will be an anomaly scan, which is done between 20-24 weeks, to check whether the baby is developing normally. This scan is carried out in order to look for any abnormalities in the baby’s structural development and growth, and to check the position of the placenta.

The scan takes about 15-20 minutes, wherein the doc will point out the heartbeat and parts of the baby like the face and hands, before looking in detail at your baby.

Hope this info helps. All the best with your scan. Do let us know how it goes.

Never take Relicord - pathetic customer care
Hi All,

According to my experience with Relicord, I will never recommend any one to go with Relicord. It' s being 1.5 years now, I am paying the EMIs, but I had enough trouble with them.
1.After one year they send a legal notice to me saying that I have not given the intitial advance of 20,000 R.s

Lifecell is the best
yes Life cell is the best, when ourbabygirl was due in Feb 2011 we shortlisted Lifecell after meeting Cyrobanks, Relicord, Babycord etc. Cyrobanks are thugs they promise you the moon and also there is no indian hand in this company so we can' t rely on them at all. Relicord is good but the offers have so much marketing gimmicks. Other players lacks either the technical inf... - CK [View Message]

Avoid Beena Jaysingh. We' ve got seriously burnt up by Dr. Beena Jaysingh of Apollo Bellandur. Dr Beena is highly unprofessional and always behind money. She is incompetent and doesn' t understand patient problems and needs. Whenever we went to her for my wife' s pregnancy she wrote all the available tests without even asking and thinking.

My personal experience with ReliCord is not good. My baby is now 9 months old and the contract is still not signed. I am following up since last 6 months.

Anybody has any idea what can be done in such a case.... - Ani [View Message]
