Hello. I am 5 months pregnant (21 wks) and am moving soon from Canada to Delhi to follow my husband who accepted a job offer there. We have a 20 month old toddler. My husband needs to start his job during the summer and I am due mid-September. I have a dilemma. I would like to move there this summer (when I am 7 months pregnant)but I am worried about catching malaria during the last months of my pregnancy. I refuse to take anti-malaria drugs (they made me sick in the past) during my pregnancy so I think I should give birth in Canada and move to Delhi afterwards. My question to you is (especially those living in Delhi): are you all taking anti-malaria drugs during your pregnancy? Can I avoid catching malaria in Delhi if I stay indoors in the air-conditioning all the time during the rest of my pregnancy (and not take anti-malaria meds)? If I can avoid catching malaria by staying indoors, then I will move there this summer and give birth there. Thanks in advance for all your answers. I appreciate it.
