Hi Archie and everyone,
I am very happy to announce that my son Advait was born on Oct 10th 2006. Well, since I had GD, and my OB predicted my baby to be more than 7 pounds after ultrasounds, I was scheduled to be induced on 10th Oct. I was started on pitocin and after 2 hours i was having contractions strong enough and made me think about epidural. Epidural was on the way, but before that, my son's heart rate was on the low side for quite some time. My OB was concerned and she said that it might end in a c sec, but soon the heart rate picked up. I had made up my mind for a csec too. My OB said that since the heart rate improved, i could take the chance for attempting for a natural delicery, but she also said that it might take around 8 hours as i was only 4 cms dilated. She said if I am concerned about the heart rate going down again, I could very well opt for c sec and that is what i did. I thought instead of being in tension about my son's heart rate for the next 8 hours or so, i can go in for a c section. Then things happened in a jiffy. My son was out at 12 44 pm weighing only about 6 pounds and 12 ounces, much to everybody's surprise. He was thought to be a large baby and ended up being a six pounded. He was born at the end of 39th week. He is doing fine, although he lost some weight before he came home. He weighed in at 5.15 pounds when we checked out of the hospital, but now he is increasing.
I especially want to thank Archie for her services on IP. Although I have not been an active member here, she has helped me a lot whenever I had a question, and mostly I used to be relieved by her response to other people's queries. Archie, it was partly in honour to you that i chose to name my son Advait. Also me and my hubby liked the name very much. Archie, hats off to your services in this board. It surely means a lot to girls wholive so far frm their homes. I hope God gives you all the strength to continue your services. God bless you and your family.
All the best to girls who are still expecting.
cheers
