Hi Trace,
I feel for you but u'l sure find urself in a happier situation.
I m currently thinking things thru because i hav bin engaged with an indian and d mom came and refused to accept me, all of a sudden he changed. He asks to wait n m really considering coz we were hapi together but then again seems like its pointless.

How can he back out when there were only 6 days left to the wedding? What about all the arrangements for the wedding? Sounds like a bollywood movie except that in that it happens right at the altar!!!

Tracy,

What happened? I saw your post that it was over... What do you mean he couldn't do it? Did all your plans fall through? Tracy I don't know what to say!!!! I hope you're ok. Words are so impotent and I am feeling useless. I wish I could comfort you better or ever at all. Stay strong Tracy. You're a great person and if your man decided to side with his family don't feel bad about it... Of course you will but try to carry on.... He, like so many indian guys, are still momma's boys. For good or bad they can't grow up

May be it is a blessing in disguise if they don't attend your wedding. They haven't accepted you so even if they attend the wedding it would only be as a formality and they would be hurting or burning inside so no good wedding wishes for the two of you. So look forward to the most special day of your life and enjoy it to the fullest.

Should a single man live with his mum in India?
I am a man in my late 40s and I have lived abroad in USA for the past two decades. I never had any interest in marrying or having kids so I never married. Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India.
