Dear friends, I read that after the 23rd week you can hear the heartbeat through a regular stethescope or your husband might even be able to hear just be pressing his ear to your belly.
Did anybody try that and able to hear the heart beat.

Thank you ladies. It just seems to be a long wait to hear the heartbeat at my monthly doctors appts. I guess I will have to be happy with just the kicks till then :-)

I am in my 29th week now and my husband still cant hear the heartbeat with his ears near my tummy. But nothing to worry. This depends upon the position that your baby is in and also your tummy. If you are on hte heavier side it would be difficult. Infact when i went to the doc acouple of days ago, it took her a couple of minutes before she could trace the heartbeat on the doppler. So dont get worried if your hubby says he cant hear! sharmila

Yes, you can listen to baby's heartbeat by 23rd week. If you keep your hand over your belly also you can feel the hearbeats.
