Hi,

I had my 37 week appt yesterday. everything is fine & the baby is doing good too. I was under the impression that she wud be doing an internal examination , but my doc said that she will do it after 38th week & that too if she feels the need to do so.

I am a little confused . Aren;t all the check up after week 36th internal? can someone pls answer this. I have friends who's doc do an internal check up regularly in the last weeks , to determine if effacement & dilation is taking place . are anyone of you going thru the same thing?

Well, we all are almost there .It can be any day now . Today i will be packing mine & hubby;s bags for the hospital . Baby's stuff is packed last week itself.

I have gained 6lbs in the last 2 weeks . So yesterday the doc was a little mad at me . She asked me not to eat any sweets & fatty stuff, since she does not want me to catch diabetes. I total i have gained 34 lbs in my pregnancy.

Till how many weeks does the weight keep on increasing ? I've heard that after week 38th , u stop putting on weight . Is this true ????

I have asked too many questions;) but was just worried about all this . Hope to receive ur replies soon. It's gr8 sharing everything here on this websites.

Am at Chennai and yesterday when i went for my 37the week appt, doc said that usually they do internal exam jus 2 weeks before due date.but this is in India, if u r in US i don know what the rules are.

regd weight gain ...know hat ?i have gained a gorgeous 37 pounds and still i have 2 more weeks to go.the doc said though i was putting on too much weight, it was fine as long as sugar levels are thyroid levels are ok.anyways, as Archie said we have to cut out on fatty items.

Yes, in US they usually do internal examination from beginning of 37 weeks (complete 36 weeks), each week. Sounds strange if you live in US that your Dr. goes by notion and not by rules.

Good that you are getting ready for hospital.

Weight gain, seems you are going to cross the limit. But you should keep out of salt, carbohydrate and a little bit of fat.

No, you won't stop gaining weight in last two weeks, you should gain at least 3/4 pound each week after 38 weeks. This is the weight gained by your littleone and not from your body.
