Hi my baby is abt 3.5 months. I would like to know when do baby's lift their head. He has a good control on his head and he can hold his head when on stomach but cannot lift it when on his back.

Second , would like to know when and how shoul we start potty training for babies.

Swati rajiv replied. babies lift their head anytime from 2.5months to 4months.that is what my ped told me when my baby was not able to lift his head by 3months.he asked me to make a visit if my son is not able to lift his head by the end of 4th month.
in one of hetal message it was written that ped give it only when asked. i asked it and my ped gave me growth charts.i saw some major diff in chart given by my ped and the babysites.
so i am abit confused now.

I felt you were asking when does a baby start lifting head - like a baby trying to lift head just little bit (10-20 degrees or so) while lying on back. If this is what u mean, then i think it starts quite early, around 2.5m. My baby would try to lift head even earlier than that, even when she had no neck control.

For milestones, you can try looking for them on this site or indianmoms dot com or any other baby site.

For potty training, their hv been lots of msgs under \" parents of babies\" on this topic .. u can search.

I started potty training my first kid when she was 4m ... it worked great ... and i m starting with second one at 5m now.

Your baby will be able to start lifting his head from back only when he can sit unsupported. Until then they will lift head when on tummy.
