This is Neetu from past 3 weeks I am having Itching. my gyno told me that these are pupps and suggested 1%Hydrocortisone but it didn't help much, then she prescribed me with 2.5%Hydrocortisone but it didn't help me at all.Now today she told me to take bath with Aveeno bath treatment.

I don't know sometime I feel like I am having itching on legs and arms also but I feel it can be psychologically also, so not sure what shld I do.

Can u please suggest me what to do.
How can I distinguish that whether this itching is increasing or I just have feeling.
Is there any remedy which I can try.

This itching is killing me, and I am just abt to complete 33 weeks tomorrow.

what are the consequences if it leads to Colastasis.

Please help me.

Archie replied. Dear Neetu,
I would suggest to stick to Aveeno, that's steroid free and safe for your case.
Colastasis has no serious consequences, it's itching due to mixing of bile in blood. This is again due to pregnancy hormones, those are relaxed on your body parts. I think when you know condition and seeing Dr. should help relieve stress and thus unlikely psychological itchiness. Relax and try to use Aveeeno as per guidelines. Some amount of itching will be still there and you will bear it as the days progress, unfortunately not much can be done.

If this ends in cholastasis then also don't worry, Ask Arti (August) she been through this almost half or all of her third trimester. As like her, you can apply Tamarind paste, will give a little relief but won't control if it's a lot.

Think a few weeks to go, if the itching goes beyong limits and you can't take it then in or after 37 weeks you can go for Induction. The condition will subside in a few weeks following birth of your little one.
