Hi All,
I have a brother who is eighteen years old and are planning to do his ceremony (upanayanam) later this year. Our mother has already told him to not cut his hair. How do I convince him of oiling his hair daily. My mother has given me the responsibility of oiling and maintaining his hair and try to make him wear clip on earring until his ears get pierced. He doesn't listen to me. Our maid suggested we should forcefully oil his hair heavily. Any advice would be of great help . Thanks
Meenakshi Piyara replied. Hi Meenakshi, oiling will always be good and healthy for hair however if at all he is a grown up boy he will not like it. Hence, its necessary to him as well and accordingly take decisions. Karan replied. Tell him that everyone has to do it when they turn 18 and there is nothing weird about it and he should not feel awkward about it and do all the rituals happily and enjoy every moment of it and not be sad about it. NN replied. Tell your brother that if he wants to follow the traditions and rituals then he should do everything that is asked or just say no to everything directly to mother. Tell him that if he wants he can wash his hair after a few hours of oiling them and oiling will make his hair look better. Oiling makes the hair become soft and smooth and helps them shine a lil. It is good idea for doing upanayanam for brother.So it would be good idea for doing all such things so what all facilities you have done for brother.What are the measures you have taken to do that event so that we too can know what you will do exactly. sonika replied.
