Thanks for responding to all my concerns. It has been such a great help and really feel better.
Archie,Yesterday i had severe backache which lasted for about 1.5 Hrs and when it was about to end then only I felt mild contractions in my tummy . May be the back pain was so severe that I was not able to feel contractions and their durations.Everyone's been telling me that was labour pain. But I am not sure bcoz it ended like in 1.5 hrs and then there was not pain later on till now. The same pain was there also day before yesterday but not that intense as it was yesterday. Yesterday the pain was very high.Please guide me as to if it was labour pain or not. If yes then why did it did not happenned again. I cld my doc and she asked me to go to the hospital and nurse will monitor to see if these are labour pains or not. But till the time I got ready, my pain stopped so I did not go.
Please guide.

don't try to read each labor symptoms, will get you confused if you continue like this.

feeling like labor pain is very fine in 9th month and trust me for there are people who face it not only for 2 hours but for 4-5 hours for days with gaps between. The problem is if you get alarmed and get in hosptial you may be admitted and induced immediately, your Dr. will try to get over all as soon as possible if you try to bumbard with all false labor concerns you are likely put on contraction monitor and if found regular for 30 minutes when in hospital likely be induced.

I personally think your body is making progress and you need to handle with relaxed mode.

Do you sleep on back, do not sleep on back. sometime this can lead to trouble baby baby to breath and move as uterus is compressed. Also poor blood circulation. There are people who voiced that sleeping on back in or around labor has reduced labor progress.

Read about labor, visit September 2006 board, Abhi had messaged on stages of labor and learn what to expect and what are the signs of real labor. I think you require to get well educated about differentiating between false labor and real labor.

The episodes you experience yesterday and day before yesterday are going to help effacement of cervix if not dilation, or may be both.

I am sorry, but had to tell you that these thing are normal and there is nothing wrong with lower back pain in 37th week or after that as the labor can get started anytime.
