Crying & Colic:We have a power screamer.

We have a 6 month old baby boy. Everytime he cries he goes red in the face and i can see hes really using all his lung power which is a lot!. After a crying session he seems to be very tired and low on energy and mostly just
falls fast asleep. I would like to know if we should be worried about the amount of energy he uses up while crying? Our doctor says its perfectly normal. Im not so sure. Is it normal? Do other babies also behave like that?

hi! dad
Nothing to be worried about. I am a father of 6 month old twins. One of my twins is just the same as ur son. But u just need to show them u are there for them...if urealise crying is the only means for babies to convey their distress signal. So be calm and help ur baby find the solution for his problem.
All the best

from the age 2 month on wards he used cry until he turns blackish blue.
doctors gave us a tough time but in the end all was normal they called him an'' intelligent stubborn baby\";
i can imagine u r worries .
just don,t give him much chances for complaints.

I don't agree with people who say you can spoil a child by picking him up when he cries. A child of 6 months will cry when he is distressed (from tiredness, overstimulation, understimulation, colic - take your pick) and if you pick him up and show him that you're there for him, he'll trust you more and begin to cry less and less.

Hi D dad, there is nothing to worry at all about your son, he is absolutely normal. If he crys so loudly, that means he has so much energy to do so. or else he would have done it. U should try to control it, don't b in a hurry to pick him up when ever he cries. if u do so, he get use to it and always try to cry to grab your attention.

Hi Distressed dad. I dont think you should worry too much. My first born used to be the same. For the first 2 years she cried herself to sleep almost every night. The doctors were wary at first but when they realised that it was a regular pattern they asked me to just make sure that the baby rested enough and had proper nutrition. So, just relax.

Hi there. While i cant tell you from personal experience as my little one hardly ever cried, i dont think its normal for a baby to cry so much that he becomes red in the face and tired EVERY time. Is it a regular pattern, like same time every day or something that triggers it? i think you should get your child checked for some illness. Best of luck.

Oh there is nothing wrong. Just that he wants attention. You will have to discipline him slowly.
