Skin is one of the most important parts of our body and plays a major role in giving the person an outer appearance. Read on to learn about daily skin care routine and get some skin care tips to have healthy skin and a beautiful appearance.

Good skin care can keep your skin healthy and glowing for many years to come. This includes gentle cleansing and sun protection as well. If you do not have enough time for intense skin care, just pamper yourself with some basic steps.
With the help of good and regular care of your skin along with healthy lifestyle you will be able to delay your aging process and prevent yourself from many skin problems also. Here are basic skin care tips you can start with.

1. Protect from the UV rays

One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect yourself from sunrays. Exposure to ultra violet rays of the sun causes age spots, wrinkles and other skin problems. There is a risk of skin cancer also. Here are some ways in which you can protect yourself from sunrays.

Use Sunscreen Lotion

Use a sunscreen lotion of a good company with SPF of at least 15. If you have to remain outdoors for long, it is advisable to apply the lotion every two hours.

Choose Right Time for Outdoor Work

If possible avoid going out in sun between 10 am to 4 pm because this is the time when the rays of the sun are harsh and strongest.

Seeks Shades

Since the skin near your eyes is very sensitive and delicate, you should choose sunglasses with larger shades.

Wear Protective Clothes

Wear shirts with full sleeves and select tightly woven fabric. Make sure your pants are full and you wear a wide brimmed hat when you go out. There is sun-protection clothing available in the market.

2. Drink Plenty of Water

Keeping your body properly hydrated is very important for your blood so that it carries out different tasks effectively. To keep your skin healthy and glowing you should drink at least 15 – 20 glasses of water daily. It ensures proper circulation and absorption and gives you beautiful skin in turn.

3. Gently Treating Your Skin

Daily cleansing and exposure to different chemicals through soaps and lotions can damage your skin.
  • Avoid taking long baths and shower
  • Avoid hot water for bathing
  • Use warm water instead
  • Avoid strong soaps and detergents
  • Shave carefully using shaving cream or gel before using the razor
  • After bath, gently pat dry your skin with dry and soft towel
  • Moisturize your skin with the lotion that suits your skin type

4. Deal With Stress

Your skin gets prone to many skin problems when it turns sensitive and with uncontrolled stress this is very easy to happen. So, manage stress and take time out to do what you enjoy.

5. Skin Care Tips for Dry Skin

Chapping and cracking are signs of dry skin. You need to always maintain the moisture of your skin in such cases. Follow these things to retain your skin moisture – use moisturizing soaps, avoid bathing for too long, exfoliate gently and not regularly, avoid harsh exfoliants, use a clean washcloth, avoid drying your skin vigorously with a towel. Always apply moisturizer after you bathe and keep a face cream ready. Apply a thicker layer before you go to sleep. Protect your skin from the cold as the cold air tends to precipitate the skin moisture. Protect your skin from the sun as it can cause irritation and serious damage to dry skin. Drink more water and keep yourself hydrated from within.

6. Skin Care Tips for Having Fair Skin

To brighten your skin and to lighten your skin tone, at first, you should protect your skin from the sun using SPF sunblock and exfoliate your skin gently a few times a week. Then get yourself a lemon rinse because lemon is a powerful lightener as it contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). Rub your skin with a raw potato as it contains high amount of vitamin C. You can make a turmeric paste with olive oil or use aloe-vera slather on your skin, let it dry for 20 minutes, and wash it off. Rinse your skin with tender coconut water. Make an oatmeal-turmeric mask, lemon-honey mask, papaya mask, yogurt mask, or a rosewater mask and apply to lighten your skin tone.

7. Tips for Healthy Skin

Nutritious diet can help you feel good and make your skin look good as well. Increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables and choose lean protein and whole grain to complete your diet. Experts are of the option that a diet that is rich in vitamin C and contains healthy fats, promotes younger looking skin. Good skin care and healthy eating habits lead to a healthy skin. First and foremost, use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and seek shade to avoid sun rays to damage your beautiful skin. Avoid smoking as it damages collagen and elastin, takes off oxygen and nutrients from the skin, and thus contributes to wrinkles and makes the skin look older. Avoid bathing for long, use mild soaps, pat dry your skin, shave carefully, and keep your skin moisturized. Eat a healthy diet rich in vitamin C and low in unhealthy fats. Keep your body active by exercising or doing yoga – this leads to a healthy skin. At last, keep yourself away from stress as uncontrolled stress can cause acne, so stay happy.

8. Tips for Dealing with Pimples and Acne

Pimples and acne are nightmares. Wash your face twice a day and keep your skin clean; avoid scrubbing it. Wash your hands before applying the moisturizer on your skin; prefer using noncomedogenic moisturizer as they prevent your skin to break out. Do not touch your face or pop the pimples as it prolongs the healing time and can also scatter the microbes somewhere else on your face. Exfoliate your face few times a week and keep yourself away from various chemical products. Use over-the-counter creams having benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, etc., which prevents pimples and acne. Protect your skin from sun using sunscreen; keep your skin hydrated by drinking water; keep your skin healthy by eating good food – and you can fight pimples and acne.
In addition to basic cleaning of your skin daily, you should cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin at least twice daily. Exfoliating your skin on regular basis will have positive impact on it. Make sure you use skin care products of trusted brands only and do not change it often.
