Name: divya As most of us are coming into Seventh month. I like to know is their any custom or celebrations held in this month or other month in ur family.
Wat is this exactly and why we do this n how this is related to baby?
If u hv any good idea for celeb this also write.
As i hv seen this only on tv or movies.

hey we are south indian, tamils,
we have a function called seemantham,
which is similar to goad bharai but our function is done in the 8 th month, it has all the ceremonies conducted by priest with all the hom hawan and prayers for the baby , basically garbh sanskar.

Agree with Max....... baby' s birth in itself wud b a big time celebration.... aint :)

But yes we have a tradition wer my family wud come to take me home in d 7th month n my In-laws wud send sweets along to b distributed to my side relatives.... d same is followed from my parents wen i go back to my In-laws place after the delivery... :)

Its jus a way of letting ppl know ders a gud new :)

hi,
i come from kerala and there we have a tradition where the girls family comes to the boys house with lots of gifts (fruits, sweets,etc)to take the girl back to her place for delivery. silly tradition i think!! take care.

yup.. absolutely crap! i hate all such traditions where girls family has to give give and only give.. for taking their daughter to mummy´ s place y they should come with gifts??
instead when she´ s leaving for delivery, in-laws should give her loads of blessing and petty things she might require in months to come..
