I was wondering a silly question but has anyone tried to make a telescopic periscope. It must be possible after all in the movies when the captain look through the periscope he sees quite a close up of the enemy ship. :) yeah i know its just a movie but still!

Good stuff... I had made my own makeshift telescope as a kid. But I used to use it only to watch crows and mynas. Good telescopes are pretty expensive... Does anyone know where to buy one?

How about ordering online on EBay or Amazon or from a manufacturer like Vivitar. Alternatively if you know any good camera retailer they may be able to place an order for you as they are quite specialized equipment after all.

Subject:  Reflector Telescopes?
This was an interesting article. I learnt about telescopes in school and even had a basic one. I now realise it was a refractor telescope. I have never heard about the reflector or catadioptic telescopes.
