hello all i' m in 22nd week and all of sudden from last 2 days i' m feeling a strong pulsation kind in my stomach..as if the nerves r getting tensed and then relaxed.. they r not frequent and today i did' nt feel it at all..

what is it? i read on net something called Braxton Hicks. is it same?? if yes then it is harmful?? i' m really scared..

Rashika replied. Braxton Hicks are for real and can start from week 23 of pregnancy. I have been experiencing them as well and they aren' t harmful....just prcatice contractions so don' t worry too much about it. Breeze replied. Hi Sangeeta,

Americanpregnancy - Braxton Hicks contractions can begin as early as the second trimester, however they are most common in the third trimester. The muscles of your uterus tighten for approximately 30 to 60 seconds or as long as 2 minutes. Braxton Hicks are also called “practice contractions” because they will prepare you for the real thing and you can practice the breathing exercises you are learning in your childbirth classes.

Braxton Hicks are described as:
*Irregular in intensity
*Infrequent
*Unpredictable
*Non-rhythmic
*More uncomfortable than painful
*They do not increase in intensity, or frequency
*They taper off and then disappear altogether

If your contractions are easing up in any way, they are most likely Braxton Hicks.

U shud anyways talk to ur doc abt ur symptoms to ease anxiety its always better.....
