hi gals , im very anxious by nature, this is my 1 st pregnancy so im bound to be anxious. I noticed one thing tht i wanted a sense of assurance from my gynaec which i feel is lacking . Everytime i enter for my regular visit im being told of some test to be done which worries me till i get the test done and reports are normal, the 1st time i met her she told me that usg on 12 week is imp to see the nuchal thickness of the cranial vault and its developments with which we can detemine downs syndrome i went for the sono it was normal, she then suggested some blood tests routine vdrl hiv hbsag hgrm u/r etc then again i was told to do the anamoly scan then the triple tests , the gtt etc it has just put lot of pressure on me and all i want was a sense of assurance, tht everything is fine . Im just to scared to enter her chamber now cos i dont knw which tests she will ask .She has actually scared me talking abt down syndrome and gestational diabetes etc etc and others . Im actually irritated to extend tht i feel like changing my gynaec, just wanted to share this and ask everyone do u feel the same anxiety as mine. gigi replied. hi

well i understand quite well what all first time moms go through...these tests are really irritating...but if you see positive side its for better of our child.

see ...nowdays their are so many problems that doctors want to take every care and precautions early only...thanks to medical science so many new methods and tests are available and we are fortunate that we can avail.

even i used to get very scared...but now i have changed my thinking.sometimes doctors do more tests which are unnecessary i agree....but you need to trust them..they obviously know better because if everything goes fine we thank the doctor,but if he/she makes even slighest of negligence or dont bother too much we start blaming them.so its better just do as they say

im sure everything will be ok.PREGNENCY IS A TESTING TIME FOR WOMEN.

Just relax dear.. we all r going through hell lot of tests.. but if u feel ur doc is asking for tests even when not required better option is change the doc..as u said ur doc has scared u saying about gestational diabetis and all such stuffs i sense this gynac is commercial.. any good gynac would know that this phase of life women tend to be very sensitive and all such things should not be spoken to her..

only if any women is at risk of any problem Gynac should discuss the topic with her.. why now with u?? she is just money minded Tej, just change the doc!!

comfort factor with ur doc is very important during pregnancy.. there' s nothing wrong in changing the doc dear.. talk to ur hubby and decide. Sheetal replied. But I agree with Breeze , if you are not comfortable with the doctor it might not be a bad idea to change , it is so important to have the comfort factor during this period when something or the other keeps bothering us.Weigh the pros and cons with your husband and take a call. max replied. sweetheart...everybody has to get all the test done every test has a period....12th week sonography.....after 15th week triple test....20th week a sonography again....a hell lot blood tests(RH TEST, SUGAR..BLAH BLAH) take it in ur stride....think that its for ur child' s well being.... First of all don worry to much.... anxiety is quite obvious especially for first time mommies.....

About your doc, some doctors r a lil more cautious den others. n it also depends upon ur medical history or dat of ur families... It cud b dat d doc is bein extra cautious in ur case.... u don hv to worry abt des tests its jus precautionary....

To tell u i' ve been goin thru a lotta websites doin a bit of research as i don wanna misout on anything.... I sometimes get a lil worried wen i read something which my doc has not spoken to me abt or a test i m not asked to do.... & i tend to chk with him he tells me its not required.....

At the same time its also really imp to trust your doctor n b very comfortable wit him/her..... I used to go to a diff gynac initially, she was nice but i was not very comfortable for some reason n hence changed my doc.... m quite ok with my current doc....

So if u think u r not comfortable n want to change ur doc spk abt ur concerns to ur husband n take a call soon as it wud b imp for your new doc to understand ur pregnancy history until now n proceed/guide u according.....

As far as tests are concerned dont worry too much about them..... Just relax n enjoy ur time planning for d lil ones arrival, B happy gurl :).....
