I m new to this board. im in the 37th week and i live in US. and this is my first baby.
The sad thing is my inlaw's visa got rejected. so there is nobody to help me here. only me and my hubby. so anybody in the same position. if u are then please let me know about what to do and how to manage everything on ur own. i m so worried that what will i do ? tips from any second time moms are most welcome. Please reply.

H. No. 21, U-59 Road, DLF Phase-III, Gurgaon (Haryana)

This is to inform and make people aware of the fraudulent practice adopted by the above maid agency. This young, sweet-talking nepali guy named Shrwan & his gang will place maid in your house, sign a contract & take service charge in cash. After a month or so, maid will simply run away after taking her salary & other valuable items leaving no trace or contact point of Shrwan & his other fraud guys. Even if you manage to contact them somehow, they will accuse of not treating & feeding the maid properly and maid will oblige you by replying in the worst rude possible manner.

We have come to know that there are already several police cases (including girls’ harassment) on him & his wife – Gaytri. He just keeps on changing rooms in the area of Nathupur (Gurgaon) and recently known to be shifted to Wazirabad, Sec-56 (Gurgaon).

Please be aware of such people and do thorough check of maid & the agency. Also, do not hire from the agent who is ready to drop maid at your doorstep or reluctant to invite you to their so-called office. Beware of all these Nepali agents sitting in Nathupur (Gurgaon).

I am sure you and your hubby can manage. You have to be determined and strong. Me and my wifew are in the same boat (due date nov 14). My dad had a stroke a few months back and thereform my mom can't leave him alone and come. My wife's mom passed away a few years back. But we are totally determined that we can do it on our own. We did hire some help on the cooking front. Other than that, we don't have anybody to support us. archna replied. My mother's visa got rejected twice. So even I have no one to help me around. I am due on 4th Nov. My husband is taking his leaves during that time. One thing is little a plus for me is that my husband knows cooking very well.

All our friends tell they are there for us. So even we have asked them to help us in food department after I deliver.
Another thing that I have done is that I have bought all sorts of indian groceries so that the only grocereis my husband needs to go for after delivery is for milk and onions and tomatoes. We have also decided to buy a lot of tomatoes and onions now itself. We are planning to grind them and freeze them. So that even that work is done.
Definitely to take care of the child, I am reading a lot of books. So, I am confident that things can be managed alone with very less problems and hiccups. sridevi replied. Hi Neha,
Iam into my 37 weeks of pregnancy and my due date is on Nov 7th,at first even my mother's visa got rejected and this is my first baby,i was really tensed coz there are nobody to help me here.
But,we have applied again for the second time,but this time we went through agent,guess what my mother's visa has come and she is coming here by next week.
So, why don't you go through the agent this time,it will be really helpful.If you need any information regarding visa papers,do write to me.

I read your messages seems like you all are very worried being all alone. I just want to give you all some courage there is nothing to worry so much I know in India they create such situation making people feel that they are not fit for leading a normal life they make us dependable. I agree we need some rest but we will not become so tired and be bedridden instead we will feel more energetic since our body weight reduces and all pregnancy related problems comes to an end. You will feel like eating more.
If at all you deliver before your people arrive don't panic keep up you moral high. If there is will there is a way.

Let me tell you I delivered on March 2nd saturday I was all alone I stayed in the hospital just for a day and got discharged on sunday. From next day I was doing things as a normal lady taking care of my elder child, my husband plus the newborn. This is not self boosting it is just to tell, you are not all alone in this world. Thinking in this way makes us feel good.
Keep some things ready like baby clothes, diapers, lotions, powder, wipes, blankets, bottles( you might be required to give water since I was asked to feed water the very next day because my baby did not go to poo poo).
Regarding food cook some food before and freeze it.
Just believe in God everything will be fine. As on date I have a seven months old a happy child who has already started putting her tiny steps forward with her dads help. I feel so proud looking at her we did it all by ourself.

I belong to Dec/Jan board.My situation is same as yours.Unfortunately, parents won't be able to come here.My husband is planning to take his annual vacation around that time.Try to take help from friends if possible, well , in my case i don't have any indian neighbours over here , so we just have to manage everything ourselves.We will be attending child care classes plus we've also reading child care books etc.Use disposable diapers for your baby - will reduce lot of work.Plan out meals in advance before due date like recipes which are easy and faster to prepare considering your diet requirements and make sure that your husband knows how to prepare them.U can cut vegetables and freeze them too if u have time when u are approaching due date.
Try reapplying for visa that should work and i do hope that your mother in law gets visa approved second time.In any case make contigency plan and be ready with it so u don't have last minute tensions.Afterall it is our baby , we have to take care of it. Jichi replied. Hi Neha,

am in my 32nd week and my mil and my mom have applied for visa, they didnt get the visa yet, am like cat on the wall, dont know whether they will get visa, but y to worry, ask them to reapply, meanwhile u enquire abt midwife from ur hospital - heard that the hospital people can guide some experienced midwives, till u r fit to do the daily routine, i think this is the best way. all the best and dont worry, u can do it. also, go to some baby care classes prescribed by ur hospital. that will surely help u.
