Health Issues:bathing baby when he has cold
2009-03-16
Name: Radha Kannan Hi

My 2 month old son is having a mild cold and the weather is also very bad.
I just wanted to know if it is ok to continue to bathe him - especially is it ok to give him a head bath?

Instead of bathing him, undress him in a warm room, take a soft cloth, wet in hot water, wring and wipe him clean. Then pat him dry with a towel and dress him immediately. You can give him a headbath after a gap of 2-3 days, until he is better.

If the cold persists, please visit your doc.

RE:RE:Baby's Birth Weight
True enough; poor eating habits of a mother during pregnancy can affect the baby's weight. Consuming protein-rich diet like daily intake of few almonds and nuts can help increase the infant's muscle mass.... - NishJeni [View Message]

RE:Castor Oil/ Glycerine supository
Honey - some form of honey can contain deadly botulism spores. But they changed the formula for karo syrup because of this, to make it safer - so if you can get karo for constipated babies, that's healthy.

Soap - so long as you only use ordinary bathroom soap, preferably glycerin soap with no added perfume, it is totally safe to use making homemade suppositor... - Suzanne France [View Message]
