Hi all Jan mommies,
I had my check up with my gyne recently. I have completed 39 weeks and my due date is 11th Jan. At present my BP, AFI, fetal heart rate, baby position everything is normal. My gyne suggests it is good to induce labor and have the child birth. But I am bit scared of getting induced. my sister had a long and tough labor as she had induction of labor for the first child. For the second child she got pain naturally and the labor was easy for her. In this india parenting site also I have read many ladies mentioning that they had a long and tough labor after induction. I consulted the same with my gyne and she mentioned that it is good for the safety of the baby as we have more control once the baby is born. But she has left the decision to me.
Any idea/advice from you people about how long I can wait after the due date.

With my first baby I did not get any sort of pain untill 41 weeks and 1 day. I opted to get induced though my doctor said I can wait till end of 42nd week. I underwent 23 hours of labor and later ended up having C-Section. I agree that many people have had good success rate with induction too. Your doctor is the best any day.

I am from dec2008 club.I had induction of labour in both pregnancies,the labour was for 15 hrs for first,7 hrs for second delievery.Both r normal delievery.
I think its good to get induced,if this is related to baby safety and there is no harm in getting induced.
The labour pain is depend on person,first or second pregnancy.And besides that u can choose a date of birth/induction.Hope this helps.All the best.
