Q: I am in my 6th month of pregnancy.
Recently my gums started bleeding while brushing. I have a little swelling on my gums as well. Is
this normal during pregnancy? Bimla (Montreal, Canada) |
A: Bleeding gums during pregnancy is not uncommon. This is due to hormonal changes. There is no need to take any medicines. Just brush your teeth properly twice a day. Massage your gums with your index finger and water. Don't worry about the bleeding. Get a check up done by a dentist. If necessary, he will clean your teeth. |
