Easy-to-Make Breakfast Recipes for Kids
Most of you must have heard it from your mothers that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Read on to find some easy-to-make breakfast recipes for your kids and also understand how a nutritious breakfast makes great differences.

Breakfast not only provides children the necessary energy to start their day, but also helps them to concentrate more and better and gives them strength as well. Many people do not give importance to breakfast and so they do not care much if their children skip breakfast or have anything they like.

Benefits of Nutritious Breakfast for Kids

As far as kids are concerned, studies show that children who have a nutritious breakfast perform better in class, are able to concentrate more and get involved in physical activities as well. These children are found to be active and they also have better eye-hand coordination and better problem solving skills. It is observed that children who do not eat healthy breakfasts tend to have junk food, which has high fat and sugar content and low nutritional value, during the day.

Be Creative When Making Breakfast for Kids

Kids automatically get attracted towards fast food items and do not get ready easily to have healthy food. Here you need to be creative and strategic and squeeze a good breakfast in your kid’s routine. Starting with a liquid, preferably juice can increase his appetite and you can start with some of the recipes given below to start with.

Breakfasts Recipes for Kids

Here are some easy to make breakfast recipes for kids.

Egg Sandwiches

Ingredients
Sliced breads
Butter
Eggs – Hard boiled
Procedure – Spread butter on the bread and then slice the eggs in thin circles and spread them on the bread. You can add tomato ketchup or any other sauce that your child likes to spice it up.

Smoothies

Ingredients
  • Milk or yogurt
  • Fruits
  • Tofu
Method
These are healthy, convenient and portable. This can be an ideal breakfast especially if your kid is a teenager. Smoothies provide sufficient amount of protein, vitamins and minerals and you can add single or different types of fruits to bring variety.

Veggie Omelet

Ingredients
  • Butter
  • Onion finely chopped
  • Some vegetables like cabbage, capsicum finely chopped
  • Pepper powder
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Salt – according to taste
  • Grated cheese
Method
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and put onion and vegetables to it. Cook for 4 – 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Keep them in a bowl and sprinkle salt to it.
In the meantime, beat eggs with milk and add salt and pepper to it. Grate cheese and keep aside.
Now melt the remaining butter in the pan add the egg mixture and cook for 2 minutes. Make sure your omelet is cooked properly. Once done, add the vegetable mixture and spread the grated cheese over it. Keep the omelet on the heat until you get the right consistency of the melted cheese on your omelet.
You can serve this yummy vegetable omelet with parathas or breads, depending on your child’s taste.

Broken Wheat Upma

Ingredients
  • Broken wheat
  • Oil
  • Vegetables like cabbage, peas, capsicum
Method
Precook the broken wheat and drain the water. Heat oil in a pan and add onion and vegetables – finely chopped – to it and when they are partially cooked, add the precooked broken wheat and 1/4 cup of water to it. Pressure cook for 5 minutes on low flame and garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.

Cabbage and Spinach Parantha

Ingredients
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Bengal gram flour
  • Grated cabbage, spinach
  • Green chilies – chopped
  • Onion – chopped
  • Grated cottage cheese
  • Salt
Method
Add everything in the wheat flour and knead soft dough. Make parathas taking small dough and cook them on pan using a little bit of ghee or oil. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney.

A glass of milk is a must for breakfast. My child was not liking milk so I started adding kesar badam in it. Now he drinks milk happily.

All recipes are good but we must also include some fruits or fruit juices in the breakfast of kids.
