Due Date Club January 2009:Sleeping position!

Hi all! I was wondering whether you all are comfortable sleeping these days. I am actually very uncomfortable at night. If I sleep on my back, my back starts hurting after sometime probably coz of the baby weight. I wanted to know what sleeping positions are you adopting these days.

hi radhika,
Congrats...sleeping well, will remain a problem until yur lil one is born and more after that(coz he or she wont let u sleep). Well it is best for you to get used to sleeping on your left side with a pillow in between you legs..Keep right leg on the pillow(any ordinary pillow will do) at a 90 degree angle and your left leg straight..this way you wont put any pressure on your tummy and you' ll sleep well. I did the same for my 1st baby and this one as well.works like magic

Hi Radhika,

1st of all congratulations..even i had too many problems in sleeping...had suffered backache as well..

my doc had advised me to sleep on my side (specially Left, right side to be avoided as much possible) with a small pillow between my legs..

Alternatively I was also adviced to use maternity pillow.. Must tell you it was a great relief.. now I sleep even better thabn earlier...you can find these at any me n mom or mothercare stores..though expensive these are really helpful..

Take care & Rgds-
Me to be mama soon..
