Unexplained Infertility: TB in fallopian tube
Name: Namita
Date: 2006-08-29
I am 31 year old. After trying for 1 and half year we went to a gynocologist. She did a ultrasound and able to see some polyp in my uterus. She also dignosed some abcess near or around my left fallopian tube. Then she referred me a HSG test. The test came out normal. My both fallopian tubes are open. Now to know what the abcess is they want me to go through a laproscopy procedure. So can any one suggest me if there is any other way tackle this situation. After reading in internet I found that in India the TB in fallopiantube is very common. So dodes any one know if I have TB in fallopian tube. then is it recoverable ?? Is there an way to detect TB in fallopian tube ?? I am really concern because I am in US and here doctors are not familiar with this kind of TB. Is this kind of TB is curable by medicine ?? Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
I too was recently diagnosed with TB of tubes when I was in India. The docs in US were not even aware of this.

I repeated the tests here in US and they came out positive too. Currently on the nine months TB Treatment

The name of the tests are
1) Acid Fast Bacillia (commonly known as AFB)
2) TB Culture which is grown in the lab

The TB Culture can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to get results. For me the AFB came negative but the culture was positive.

You ask your RE do the tests.

I am not a medical expert...the above is for FYI only.

Dear Namita,
I too had TB Salpingtis in my tubes, which was detected by laparoscopy and later a blood test. I don't remember the name of the test or the medicines, since it was a long time ago, but after a year of the treatment, I conceived through IUI and have a 3 year old son. So don't worry. If u do have the disease, it can be cured with medicine. The laparoscopy is a diagnostic tube and will tell you if there is any prob in the tube or uterus. So go ahead and get it done first. All the best. I hope there is nothing wrong with the tubes

Bourn Hall Gurgaon
My wife had gone through an IVF cycle in Boun Hall Gurgaon in 2014, but it was unsuccessful. My experience of this clinic was very bad as the doctor there - Dr Sandeep Talwar (sonu) do not talk properly to the patients and gets irritated when asked any question/doubt. The embryos were transferred on day2 only though normal practice is to transfer on day3 - i think the embr... - Sumir [View Message]
