How are you? You have mentioned that you do not have GD in this pregnancy. Could you please help me with few questions that I have. I had GD during pregnancy and later after 6 weeks for a post partum checkcup..my doctor asked me to go for a 75grams GTT. And the readings were a little high.
1. Can you please tell me..if you took the 75grams GTT after delivery..If so what was your reading?
2. After how many weeks did you check your sugars after delivery.
3.What were were your fasting reading..and usually after how many hours of fasting..would you generally take the fasting blood sugar count?

hi there,
sorry for delay in replying.I didnt do a GTT after my delivery,just a normal fasting blood sugar with overnight fasting.dont remember now what the reading was,but was within the normal levels. dont worry, the sugar takes a little time to come down as the body is still undergoing stress. minimize rice ,potatoes and other starchy stuff. take a lot of veggies,milk , etc. keep busy after ur baby and everything should be allrighht soon.

it seems ur quite worried ...1st thing relax..usually gd disappear after preg and it takes time a min of 9 mnth to 1 yr..even i had gd and now almost after a yr it has normalised...in india GTT is not always advised...my fasting sugar is bet 95 to 100 which i do after a gap of 10hrs ...and pp is 120 ie after 2 hrs of lunch...
i used some totkas ( hope u know what it means)..like consuming 1karela+tomato+cucumber mixture every single day for abt 6 to 8 mnths....walked for abt an hr ..exercised for abt 1 nd half an hr...sugar ant wt both reduced..also i went v strict on diets ..like no rice,no junk food,no fried stuff...no outside food..i ws strict on the proteins,carbs..salads ..etc...
but be patient everybody body and metabolism is nt the same...some take 1 yr some take 2 days ...so relax ..and be patient

Thank you so much:-) Made me feel better. Yes even m y fastinf sugars are between 95 to 100. But my post lunch is a little high. So I was worrying. Since I just delivered ..As you said I think I shoudl be given some time. Where do you live in US or India?
